The Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Strategic Education International in the United States of America, organized today the inaugural meeting of the "Pearl Global Future Dialogue."
In her opening speech to the meeting, HE Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater said that the dialogue aims to achieve a deeper understanding of the critical issues that Qatar and the US face in times of global challenges and to enhance cooperation in more areas.
Her Excellency stressed that such discussions would help the State of Qatar, as a major non-NATO ally of the US, to serve the global community more effectively in this field.
She added that as they meet today, a new war and global geopolitical competition are intensifying, and at the same time, the world is emerging from a pandemic, and everyone is trying to get the economies back into thriving businesses again.
HE Al Khater pointed out that such events and challenges highlight the fundamental need to solve problems, exchange ideas, and dialogue.
Her Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar supports dialogue and debate to reach a more equitable global order.
HE Director of Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Fahad Al Khater explained that the goal of the dialogue is to strengthen the Qatar-US strategic bilateral relations, through the participation of elite influencers and experts in the political, security, and economic fields of both countries. He pointed out that this dialogue is considered an informal strategic platform for consolidating bilateral relations.
The meeting dealt with topics on geopolitical affairs, smart power, and technology, in addition to discussing ways to deepen existing strategic cooperation mechanisms to face future challenges.
