Rome: HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Interior of the Italian Republic Matteo Piantedosi during an official visit to Italy. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in security areas of mutual interest, especially in securing major events and sharing police expertise.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions highlighted the participation of a Qatari security force in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games (Milan-Cortina 2026). The parties emphasized the significance of continuous coordination and the exchange of experiences to adopt best practices in security planning for international sports events. This collaboration aims to enhance performance efficiency and bolster security cooperation between Qatar and Italy.
