Doha: The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT), the Workers Support and Insurance Fund (WSIF), and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), organized a workshop aimed at representatives of Asian communities to enhance efforts in fighting human trafficking.
According to Qatar News Agency, this workshop is part of the Ministry's continuous efforts to address the complex issues surrounding human trafficking. It served as a platform for sharing best practices, increasing understanding of the associated risks, and empowering participants to spread this vital information in their communities. The goal is to protect community members from exploitation and digital threats.
The sessions were designed to raise awareness about different forms of human trafficking, help identify its signs, and provide insights into the NCCHT's mission and responsibilities. Cybersecurity risks were also discussed, highlighting their implications for workers and communities and suggesting preventive measures against cyber attacks and digital fraud.
The NCCHT encouraged workers to report any human trafficking-related issues through the hotline at 16044 or by emailing Ht@mol.gov.qa.
