Ministry of Labour Hosts Training on Internal Audit Standards for Aspiring Accountants

Doha: The Ministry of Labour, through its Department of Qualifying and Skills Development, in collaboration with the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA), has conducted a specialised training course titled "Internal Audit Standards".

According to Qatar News Agency, this programme was designed for Qatari nationals and children of Qatari women who have graduated in accounting and are seeking employment in the private sector. Held over two days on 4 and 7 May, the course aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in internal auditing, thereby enhancing their readiness to enter the job market and meet the demands of the country's financial and accounting sectors. This initiative supports the nationalisation plan by increasing the proportion of nationals within the private sector, aligning with the National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce (2024-2030).

Experts from QCPA delivered comprehensive sessions covering topics such as corporate governance practices, risk management techniques, the latest financial control mechanisms, and modern accounting skills. These sessions adhered to best professional practices and international standards, aiming to boost the operational efficiency and sustainability of institutions while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

This training is part of a series of programmes executed by the Ministry of Labour throughout the year, in collaboration with partners from both the public and private sectors. It forms an integral component of the Ministry's strategic plan to elevate the competence of the national workforce, prepare them for competitive participation in the job market, enable their involvement in sustainable development, and reinforce Qatar's position as a global hub for innovation and knowledge, in accordance with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
