Doha: The State of Qatar and the Democratic Republic of Congo have signed a twinning agreement between the Ministry of Municipality and the Kinshasa Municipality. The agreement aims to enhance bilateral cooperation and the exchange of expertise in municipal and developmental fields. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026).
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah on behalf of Qatar, and Governor of Kinshasa Municipality Daniel Bumba Lubaki for the Democratic Republic of Congo. This collaboration aims to bolster institutional cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in various areas including building inspections and licensing.
The agreement also focuses on organizing advertising boards, developing training and capacity-building programs, and exchanging field visits. Additionally, it seeks to leverage experiences in afforestation, greening, and urban beautification efforts. Both parties emphasized that this agreement is a significant step in enhancing municipal services and joint efforts, which will contribute to supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life in both cities.
