Ministry of Municipality to Host Fifth Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference in Doha

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality has announced the organization of the fifth edition of the Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition 2025. Under the patronage of HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, the event will take place on June 25-26 at Raffles Doha Hotel.

According to Qatar News Agency, this year's conference, themed 'From Waste to Wealth,' will feature participation from governmental and semi-governmental entities, private sector institutions, local factories, and several international organizations and experts in waste management. The announcement was made during a press conference by Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality, who emphasized the ministry's commitment to fostering a culture of recycling and sustainable solutions.

Eng. Hamad Jassim Al Bahr, Director of the Waste Recycling and Treatment Department, highlighted that the event will discuss the latest technologies in waste management, promote a circular economy, and encourage public-private partnerships for innovative recycling initiatives, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. With over 35 speakers, the conference will address topics such as waste treatment projects and the role of education in recycling efforts.

The exhibition will feature more than 40 exhibitors, including government agencies and specialized companies. Dr. Fayqa Abdullah Ashkanani, Director of the Public Relations Department, noted the department's comprehensive media plan to promote the event, which will also include a dedicated website for registration and information.

The Ministry of Municipality's pavilion will showcase visual presentations on recycling achievements, urging individuals and institutions to contribute to reducing waste and utilizing recycled resources.
