Doha: The Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by the Qatar Youth Council, marked Gulf Youth Day under the slogan "Active and Responsible Gulf Youth". The day is celebrated on June 6 every year and aims to advance the progress of joint Gulf youth action to fulfil the lofty goals of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in deepening cooperation, interconnection and integration among the Council member countries. The Ministry held several activities on this occasion, with the participation of a number of youth entities to make this event a success, namely: Simaisma and Al Daayen Youth Center, Lusail Sports Club, and Al Ramii Sports Club. A traditional shooting tournament was held at Simaisma and Al Daayen Youth Center, in which 45 archers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries took part. All participants and winners of the first three places were honored with the championship shield, medals and financial prizes. In a statement to Qatar News Agency , Nawaf Al Madahka, head of Sim aisma and Al Daayen Youth Center and head of Qatari Youth Council, stated that this year's celebration of Gulf Youth Day aims to enhance communication and cooperation among Gulf youth in the region, noting that the event sought to enhance awareness about the role of youth and encourage them to participate actively in the development process. He pointed out that shooting championships reflect the Gulf identity and that several competitions in three categories were held. Source: Qatar News Agency
