Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) announced today that Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 will be a day off for public and private school students coinciding with the constitutional amendment referendum. According to Qatar News Agency, a ministry circular stated that the schools' teaching and administrative staff are included in the day off to boost effective participation in the decision-making process. This decision aims to facilitate the participation of citizens who have reached the age of 18 in the general referendum on the draft constitutional amendments to the State of Qatar's permanent constitution. However, students of universities and higher education institutions across the country are required to attend their classes as usual. The announcement underscores the importance of civic engagement and participation in shaping the nation's future through the democratic process.
