Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) organized an orientation meeting on Monday for new scholarship students set to study in universities across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe for the academic year 2025-2026. The meeting was designed to prepare students for the upcoming academic year and help them maximize this unique educational opportunity.
According to Qatar News Agency, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at MOEHE, Noura Al Ansari, emphasized the significance of the meeting in establishing communication with students studying abroad and ensuring they receive the necessary support. She introduced the role of the Scholarships Department, highlighting students' rights and responsibilities while providing advice and guidance. Al Ansari stressed the importance of equipping students with the knowledge and skills to serve the nation and contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030, explaining that the relationship between the Ministry and scholarship students is defined by a clear contract outlining mutual obligations.
Fahad Al Kuwari, Cultural Attache at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom, provided a detailed explanation of the Attache's role in supporting scholarship students throughout their studies. The services offered include guidance, counseling, and academic supervision until graduation. Al Kuwari advised students on the importance of maintaining communication with their families and the Attache, understanding host country laws, and adhering to rules during their studies. He also informed the students about the incentives awarded to outstanding students.
Director of the Scholarship Program for Universities in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Ahlam Al Emadi, discussed procedures for activating scholarships and the requirements before and after arrival at the scholarship location. She outlined the processes for starting university studies confidently, as well as changing universities, suspending, extending, or withdrawing from a scholarship. Al Emadi also reviewed graduation procedures and the importance of communicating with the Cultural Attache and MOEHE officials for degree certification and graduation completion.
The MOEHE previously held a similar meeting for Qatari students on scholarships to universities in Education City, the US, and Canada for the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative reflects the Ministry's commitment to developing qualified national cadres to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 in human and knowledge development.
