Baku:The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has honored 207 private schools and kindergartens through its “My White Flag” shield initiative, acknowledging 63 institutions that achieved the initiative’s highest level by earning the trophy. This recognition is part of the third edition of the initiative, aimed at promoting compliance and excellence among private educational institutions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the trophy is awarded to schools and kindergartens that have maintained clean records, free of violations and official warnings, for three consecutive years. This achievement highlights their commitment to maintaining high standards of operation.
Dr. Rania Yousry Mohamed, Director of the Ministry’s Private Schools and Kindergartens Department and Acting Director of its Private Schools Licensing Department, addressed the ceremony, marking the completion of the shield’s first cycle. She noted that 63 institutions received the trophy, 45 received the shield, and 99 were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The number of honored institutions increased to 207 this year, up from 166 last year, reflecting a rise in institutional awareness. The honored institutions include 126 schools and 81 kindergartens. Despite stricter eligibility criteria, including licensing-related warnings, the increase underscores the dedication of these institutions to improve their practices.
Dr. Mohamed explained that the initiative aims to promote excellence and compliance with laws and regulations, contributing to a safe learning environment and positive relationships with parents. The shield’s criteria include maintaining a clean record, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness, and fostering positive family relationships.
The initiative’s three tiers—certificate of appreciation, shield, and trophy—reflect sustained compliance over consecutive years. Dr. Mohamed emphasized that this progress results from the ongoing partnership between MOEHE and the education sector, fostering an environment of trust and quality.
