MOFA Spokesperson Spotlights Qatar’s Mediation Efforts in Cyprus Diplomatic Academy Lecture

Nicosia: The State of Qatar plays key mediation efforts to effectively counter complex and growing global challenges, said Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari. Al Ansari's remarks came during a lecture he delivered on Tuesday at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus on the State of Qatar's mediation amid global peace challenges.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar's foreign policy views mediation as more than just a traditional mechanism for conflict resolution. It is considered an innovative dynamic process that comprehends the complexities of conflicts and cultural backgrounds to build sustainable and comprehensive solutions. Al Ansari emphasized that Qatar has become a globally reliable and impartial mediator due to its extensive experience and proven track record.

He highlighted Qatar's mediation efforts in the Afghan crisis, where it worked to bring the views of internal parties closer despite the complex regional and humanitarian challenges. Additionally, in the Gaza Strip, Qatar has attempted to establish a permanent ceasefire, navigating political pressures and malicious media campaigns.

These instances demonstrate Qatar's focus on building trust among parties and effectively managing negative external influences, solidifying its role as a key player in global peace and security efforts, Al Ansari concluded.
