MOI: Grace period for legalizing the status of expatriate violators ends on December 31, 2021

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has said that the grace period for legalizing the status of violators of Law No.21 of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, which started on October 10 and ends on December 31, 2021, allows the issuance and renewaal of the Residence Permit (RP) by the same employer as well as the transfer from one employer to another by facilitated procedures.

MOI, in a tweet on its official Twitter account, explained that the targeted categories are residency violators and work visa violators.

MOI pointed out that service centers that accept applications for correcting the status of expatriate violators in order to change from one employer to another are Umm Salal, Al Rayyan, Mesaimeer, Wakra and Umm Seneem.

MOI added that service centers that accept reconciliation applications in order to issue and renew an RP by the same employer are Al Shamal, Al Khor, Al Daayen, Umm Salal, The Pearl, Onaiza, Souq Waqif, Al Rayyan, Umm Seneem, Shahaniya, Mesaimeer, Wakra and Dukhan.

MOI further noted that working hours of the abovementioned service centers are from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and there will be 50% discount on violation amount.
