The Ministry of Labor (MOL), in cooperation with the National Human Rights Committee, the International Labor Organization, and the International Federation of Building and Wood Workers (IFBWW), organized the Occupational Safety and Health Conference under the slogan "Commitment and Responsibility", celebrating the World Day for Occupational Safety and Health which marks the 28th of April each year.
HE Dr. Ali Said Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor, stressed that the State of Qatar devotes special attention to occupational safety and health, by supporting coordination and fruitful cooperation with local and international partners in order to enhance compliance at the national level with international standards. He explained the continuation of establishing partnerships and technical exchange with national and international organizations and institutions with the aim of enhancing institutional performance and supporting and training human resources in the occupational safety and health field.
HE affirmed the Ministry's keenness to enhance transparency in the field of occupational health and safety by developing registering system for work injuries and occupational diseases and improving data collection and analysis.
