The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has announced the launch of Ma'ak Educational Program to enhance mental health and wellness in the State of Qatar.
The Program has been designed, in collaboration between the National Mental Health Program Team at MOPH with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), to provide education and awareness programs targeting different population groups and reduce stigma attached to mental health conditions.
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of the Public Health Department at MOPH, said that this initiative is another step in a concerted effort to provide valuable mental health literacy to the population.
He added that supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Qatar's population is high on the list of the programs of MOPH and its healthcare partners, and that both the National Health Strategy 2018-2022 and the Public Health Strategy 2017-2022 identify mental health and wellbeing among their key priorities.
