More than 80,000 Palestinians Perform Isha, Tarawih Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem: More than 80,000 Palestinians performed Isha and Tarawih prayers on the fourth day of the holy month of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque amid strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on access to the mosque.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem estimated, in a statement, the number of worshipers who performed Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque at more than 80,000 people, most of whom were from the Holy City and from within the 1948 territories. It was noted that the occupation forces prevented thousands of citizens from the West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to perform prayers at Al-Aqsa.

The Israeli occupation measures in the past few days have led to a decrease in the number of worshipers as a result of preventing citizens of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip from reaching occupied Jerusalem. The measures included setting up more than 30 checkpoints in various neighborhoods and at entrances to the city and the gates of "Al-Aqsa".
