Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Monday his country's willingness to broker a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Putin's announcement came during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Baku. The two leaders took stock of bilateral relations and ways to push forward joint work, especially strategic alliance relations. Aliyev hailed Putin's state visit to his country as of exceptional importance for bilateral relations, stressing his and Putin's satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries.
