Riyadh: General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to Qatar News Agency, the primary objective of this Memorandum is to coordinate efforts and ensure full integration across various scientific projects and initiatives. It also focuses on the development, dissemination, and official approval of linguistic policies and standards that serve to strengthen the Arabic language.
Furthermore, the collaboration will support extensive studies and research pertaining to Arabic linguistics, translation, and arabization. Both parties have committed to a robust exchange of scientific, intellectual, and cultural publications, alongside the joint organisation of academic events, specialised training programmes, seminars, and high-level panel discussions.
During the signing ceremony with Saudi Vice Minister of Culture Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi underscored that this agreement will significantly enhance the focus on the Arabic language, elevating its status and practical effectiveness within the framework of joint Gulf action among relevant stakeholders across the GCC member states.
He further commended the diligent efforts and invaluable contributions made by the leadership of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language in achieving their strategic objectives.
