MSDF and Qatar Charity Collaborate on Social Protection MoU

Doha: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar Charity to enhance cooperation in the field of social protection. This significant agreement was signed in the presence of HE Minister of Social Development and Family and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, and HE Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Charity, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed by Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the MSDF, Fahd bin Mohammed Al Khayarin, and CEO of Qatar Charity, Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. Al Kuwari emphasized that the MoU is part of a commitment to cooperate and coordinate with parties of mutual interest, including various ministries and institutions. He expressed the hope that the collaboration would significantly impact social protection efforts at the national level.

The primary aim of the MoU is to enhance cooperation in providing social assistance to all target groups. The agreement underscores the main role of the MSDF in implementing policies related to family care and social welfare in Qatar. This aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, emphasizing the importance of achieving national strategic development goals in the social protection sector. The initiative aims to support citizens from targeted groups, such as social security beneficiaries, persons with disabilities, productive families, and those most in need of care.
