MSDF Engages in Global Discussion on Disability Empowerment

Doha: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) on Tuesday participated in a panel discussion titled "From Response to Empowerment" as part of the second World Summit for Social Development.

According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry, Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani, highlighted the significance of the session, which was hosted by the United Nations Global Disability Fund (GDF) and the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in collaboration with the International Disability Alliance (IDA). She emphasized that the discussion reflects a mutual understanding that comprehensive recovery efforts must transition from immediate response to long-term empowerment, ensuring systematic and lasting impact.

Sheikha Sheikha further elaborated on Qatar's commitment, stating that through the support of QFFD and collaboration with national partners, the nation is dedicated to enhancing innovative and hybrid funding models. These efforts aim to ensure that individuals with disabilities are integrated into core humanitarian planning and sustainable development, rather than being overlooked.
