Munich: Munich Airport canceled about 1,600 flights on Thursday and Friday due to a strike by airport workers. The strike was urged by trade union Verdi to demand improved working conditions for workers in Germany's public sector.
According to Qatar News Agency, Germany's second-largest airport said it is trying with airlines to work on achieving the greatest possible stability through advance planning and reducing inconvenience to travelers as much as possible under the current circumstances.
Verdi aims, through this warning strike, to increase pressure in the ongoing round of negotiations on public sector workers' wages.
