North Korea fired an "unidentified ballistic missile" into the sea off the east coast of the Korean peninsula on Thursday, the South Korean military said. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said "North Korea has fired an unidentified missile into the East Sea," also known as the Sea of Japan, while the Japanese coast guard issued a warning to ships sailing in the area.
