N. Korea Launches Unidentified Projectile Toward East Sea

North korea: North Korea fired at least one unidentified projectile toward the East Sea today, South Korea's military said.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Joint Chiefs of Staff detected the launch but did not provide further details. North Korea's previous projectile activity involved ballistic missiles fired toward the East Sea on January 4, coinciding with President Lee Jae Myung's scheduled departure for Beijing for summit talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

If confirmed as a ballistic missile, today's launch would represent the second such event by Pyongyang this year, coming just 23 days after the first launch.
