ManamaThe Steering Committee of the Professional Standards Committee (PSC) of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) has selected the National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain to chair the team responsible for the draft initiative to reformulate the terminology used in writing professional auditing standards issued by the Organization, as part of the strategic development plan for the years 2023-2028. The group is made up of members from 16 countries, including Australia, China, Norway and South Africa. The NAO has also been selected to be a member of the team responsible for the feasibility study project on the reclassification of INTOSAI founding standards, such as the Lima Declaration and the Mexico Declaration. This came during the 24th meeting of the Committee, which was held recently via video conference and was attended by Ahmed Mohamed Buti, Director - Regularity Audit and Abrar Al Sayegh, Audit Supervisor at the Regularity Audit Directorate at the NAO. The meeting discussed the implementation of INTOSAI's strategic development plan for the years 2023-2028, and its main objective, which is to restructure and formulate INTOSAI's professional auditing standards.
