Brussels, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg has announced the provision of military aid to Ukraine worth 40 billion euros ($43 billion) next year. The NATO Secretary-General said, in a press conference Friday, that the allies agreed on this financial pledge for next year as a "minimum" to meet Ukraine's needs in its defense against Russia. NATO leaders will meet in Washington next week to celebrate the alliance's 75th anniversary and send a message of support to Ukraine. This pledge of 40 billion euros is not the multi-year financial commitment to support Ukraine that Stoltenberg wanted the allies to agree on, as the alliance will review military aid next year. In mid-June, NATO member states agreed to a plan that includes security assistance and a training mission to Ukraine, during a NATO meeting in the Belgian capital, Brussels. Source: Qatar News Agency
