A statement from the Public Affairs Office of the US Army Europe and Africa Command in Wiesbaden, Germany, confirmed that the soldiers were conducting a scheduled tactical training exercise at the time.

The Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) reported that the four US soldiers and an American vehicle went missing on Tuesday afternoon during training in the Pabrade area, located less than 10 kilometers from the Belarusian border.
