NCSA Unveils New Milestones in Second Phase of National Cybersecurity Training Program

Doha: The second phase of the National Cybersecurity Training Program has achieved new milestones, with the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by the National Cyber Security Academy, announcing that the number of cohorts in this phase reached 26, including 383 training seats, with participation from over 20 entities, in addition to graduating 130 new trainees.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program positions itself as a skill-honing strategic initiative, deepening best occupational practices and building flexible, long-term digital capabilities. The program aims to unify the partitioned training efforts and reduce dependence on foreign expertise at a time when a severe shortage of skilled professionals has been recorded both globally and domestically, said Assistant Director of the Cyber Security Strategies and Policies Department at NCSA, Dalal Al Aqeedi.

This initiative, she added, has been designed to be a scalable solution that aligns with global standards, contributing to building an enduring system of talent in the cybersecurity field and enhancing operational expertise across a variety of sectors. The program is laser-focused on two core elements: developing human capital and fostering cybersecurity as a crucial corporate function, through which participants are equipped with fundamental and advanced capabilities that include threat detection, intrusion testing, and infrastructure protection.

In addition, the program intends to shift the mode of thinking from merely complying with regulations to pursuing proactive and entrenched cyber governance, offering an integrated educational experience that combines theatrical aspects with simulation, in addition to providing accredited certificates to ensure effective participation and the prompt ability to apply what has been learned.

The outcomes of the program have not been limited to building technical skills only, but have gone beyond to encompass developing practical and essential competencies among the trainees, such as analytical thinking, quick decision-making, and the ability to solve strategic problems under pressure. These skills are currently being effectively applied across various government sectors, aiming to raise performance levels and implement best practices.
