NHRC and QSFA Forge Partnership to Promote Human Rights Through Sports

Doha: The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Qatar Sports For All (QSFA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation across various fields. This agreement aims to achieve shared objectives and promote a culture of human rights through sporting events.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed by HE NHRC Secretary-General Sultan bin Hassan Al Jammali and QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dossari. The signing took place during the 4th National Human Rights Forum, which recently concluded its sessions in Doha.

The agreement outlines several areas of cooperation between NHRC and QSFA. These include the exchange of information, legislation, publications, and best practices relevant to each party's work. It also focuses on sharing plans and strategies to improve each organization's performance, and promoting human rights through community sports programs and activities.

Additionally, the MoU includes provisions for joint training courses and workshops on human rights and their connection to sports. It encourages the exchange of expertise and information on monitoring and assessing the human rights situation in Qatar, particularly in the sports sector. The agreement also supports joint initiatives and projects that integrate sports within the framework of human rights and community participation.

Furthermore, the collaboration aims to support programs for priority care groups, such as persons with disabilities, older adults, women, and children, to enable their right to participate in sporting activities.
