Norway and Iceland Condemn Israeli Occupation Plans for Forced Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza

Doha: Norway and Iceland condemned the Israeli occupation plans to evacuate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, warning that such actions amount to illegal forced displacement, would lead to further violence, and undermine efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state.

According to Qatar News Agency, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide expressed deep concern over reports from the Israeli Security Cabinet regarding plans to escalate the military campaign in Gaza and carry out what was described as an evacuation, adding that this amounts to forced displacement of the Palestinian people from north to south, and possibly even out of the country.

He stressed that such actions violate international law, erode hopes for the creation of a Palestinian state, and will only lead to more bloodshed, emphasizing the urgent need to oppose plans that aim to destroy the Gaza Strip.
