Ramallah, The Israeli occupation army arrest campaigns in the West Bank since Oct. 7 have led to 7,920 detainees, after the occupation forces arrested 22 Palestinians during the past 24 hours, including four women, two of whom were hostages and former prisoners. In a joint statement on Monday, the Palestinian Prisoners Society and the Prisoners' Affairs Authority said that the arrest operations were concentrated in the Occupied Jerusalem Governorate, which is witnessing an escalation in arrest cases during Ramadan, while the rest of the arrests were distributed among the governorates of Ramallah, Al Bireh, Jenin, Hebron, Bethlehem, and Tulkarm. The statement indicated that this toll includes all those who were arrested from their homes, through military checkpoints, and those who were held hostage. The statement noted that the arrest campaigns were accompanied by crimes and violations, most notably hazing, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread vandalism and destruction of homes and confiscation of money and vehicles. The pace of arrests and raids in the West Bank escalated, coinciding with the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, which to date has resulted in 32,782 martyrs and 75,298 wounded.
