Number of Palestinian Journalists Detained in Israeli Prisons Rises to 49

Gaza: The number of Palestinian journalists detained in Israeli prisons has risen to 49 since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, including 19 journalists from the West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society reported that the detained journalists are among 177 who have been arrested or held since the beginning of what has been described as a war of extermination against the Palestinian people, based on documentation and monitoring by relevant organizations.

The statement highlighted that detained journalists have been subjected to systematic violations, including arbitrary arrests, starvation tactics, medical neglect, torture, and physical abuse.

Israeli occupation authorities continue to escalate their targeting of Palestinian journalists in what is widely seen as an attempt to suppress the truth and silence the Palestinian narrative.
