OCA Signs Agreement with the Philippines to Host 7th Asian Beach Games (Cebu 2028)

Sanya: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the Philippine government, and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) officially signed an agreement to host the 7th Asian Beach Games in Cebu in 2028 during a ceremony on the sidelines of the 6th Asian Beach Games.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by HE President of the OCA Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the POC, Abraham Tolentino. This agreement highlights the OCA's dedication to advancing beach sports across Asia and providing opportunities to host key continental events, supporting the Asian Olympic Movement.

The Games are scheduled for March 2028, with the organizing committee currently crafting a preliminary sports program that includes 24 sports, which are awaiting final approval from the OCA. The Games anticipate extensive participation from various National Olympic Committees. The Philippine side has affirmed Cebu City's preparedness in terms of necessary infrastructure and organizational capabilities to host the event.
