Milan: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially signed the hosting contract for the 10th Asian Winter Games, set to take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2029. According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony was held in Milan, Italy, and attended by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of OCA. Also in attendance were members of the International Olympic Committee, heads of continental and international federations, and representatives from national Olympic committees. HE Sheikh Joaan stated the agreement reflects the OCA's commitment to developing winter sports across Asia and described the Games as a key platform for fostering cooperation and solidarity among national Olympic committees. The Almaty 2029 Games will mark the 10th edition of the continental winter event and are expected to feature broad participation from Asian countries, highlighting the growing presence and organizational capabilities of winter sports in the region.
