The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Saturday the Israeli occupation's military aggression, which led to the deaths and injuries of hundreds among the Palestinian people, calling for the provision of international protection for the Palestinian people and the sponsoring of a serious political process to end the Israeli occupation.
In a statement, the OIC said that its General Secretariat has followed with great concern the developments on the ground and the dangerous Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territory, adding that the current instability is caused by the continuation of the occupation and its failure to adhere to International legitimacy resolutions, with daily attacks and crimes taking place against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sanctities, and depriving them of their legitimate rights.
The OIC held the occupation responsible for the escalation, whilst at the same time calling on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities towards stopping the aggression, providing international protection for the Palestinian people, and sponsoring a serious political process to end the Israeli occupation and embody the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the vision of a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
