OIC Condemns Israel’s Actions in Gaza, Urges International Intervention

Doha: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the continuing massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which involved bombings across the region, resulting in the deaths of 31 Palestinians and numerous civilian injuries.

According to Qatar News Agency, the OIC described these attacks as an escalation and a violation of the ceasefire agreement, viewing them as attempts to undermine efforts aimed at stabilizing the truce and advancing the agreement's second phase.

The OIC holds Israel, the occupying power, responsible for the consequences of these actions, urging the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities by compelling Israel to adhere to its commitments under UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The organization stresses the need to open all crossings, facilitate humanitarian aid, withdraw Israeli forces, commence recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, and relaunch political processes to end the occupation and implement a two-state solution.

The statement notes that violations of the ceasefire agreement, signed last October, persist as Israeli forces continue airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition of civilian homes, leading to significant Palestinian casualties.

It further highlights that these events add to the toll of martyrs, wounded, missing, and displaced individuals resulting from ongoing Israeli aggression since October 2023.
