Kuala Lumpur: Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs and Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to Afghanistan, met with His Excellency Dato Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman, Special Advisor to the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Malaysia's Special Envoy for Afghanistan.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting took place on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The discussions focused on the latest developments in Afghanistan and the ongoing efforts by the OIC to support the Afghan people. The talks were aligned with relevant ministerial decisions and considered the outcomes of recent meetings of working groups focused on Afghanistan within the framework of the UN-led process, which were held in Doha.
The engagement underscores the cooperation between the OIC and Malaysia in addressing humanitarian and reconstruction challenges in Afghanistan.
