Oman and Portugal Discuss Maritime Security and Trade Opportunities

Muscat: Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi held a telephone call on Thursday with his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Rangel during which they discussed bilateral cooperation. The two sides reviewed ways to enhance partnership and trade opportunities between the two countries, in a manner that serves mutual interests.

According to Qatar News Agency, they also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, particularly maritime security, the safety of global supply chains, and the impact of current crises on international trade. Both ministers stressed the significance of adhering to international law to ensure freedom of navigation, and the need to intensify international efforts to contain escalation and prioritize political and diplomatic solutions, in order to enhance security and stability and mitigate the economic repercussions of ongoing crises.
