Muscat: Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and the US president's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, engaged in discussions on Thursday concerning the latest progress in the US-Iranian negotiations ahead of the upcoming round of talks between the two nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the perspectives and proposals from the Iranian side, as well as addressing the responses and inquiries posed by the US negotiating team. These discussions centered around the fundamental components of Iran's nuclear program and the necessary guarantees to achieve a desired agreement on this critical issue.
Al Busaidi conveyed to Witkoff the importance of continued efforts to prevent any escalation. He stressed the negotiators' openness to new ideas and solutions, aiming to foster an environment conducive to progress and the realization of a just agreement, supported by enduring guarantees.
