The inflation rate in Oman upped 1.5 percent in July 2024, compared to the same month in 2023 (base year 2018). The Consumer Price Index (CPI) released Monday showed that the prices of food and beverages increased by 4.5 percent, various goods and services by 3.1 percent, health by 2.4 percent, and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 1.7 percent. The prices of entertainment rose by 0.8 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent, clothing and footwear by 0.3 percent, and furniture, equipment and household equipment by 0.3 percent. Meanwhile, the prices of transportation groups decreased by 1.7 percent and education by 0.4 percent, while the prices of the communications group remained stable.
