Cairo, Hamad Salman Taqi, the Director of Monitoring Prisons and Detention Facilities represented the General Secretariat of the Ombudsman at the discussion of Bahrain's second periodic report on human rights at the Arab Charter Committee, as part of the official delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Ombuds Office's has contributed to the report by documenting its role in upholding human rights, receiving grievances, and visiting detention centres and prisons. The Ombudsman had received a delegation from the Arab Commission on Human Rights (Arab Charter Committee) last February. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee and a number of other members who were briefed on Bahrain's human rights accomplishments and the role of the Ombuds Office.
