Doha: Ooredoo Group has announced an expanded collaboration with Google Cloud, adopting the APIGEE API Management platform to enhance its API ecosystem, expedite service delivery, and generate new revenue models across its markets.

According to Qatar News Agency, this expanded collaboration allows Ooredoo to enable developers and enterprise customers to access telecom network capabilities as APIs, including Silent Number Verification, SIM Swap, and direct carrier billing, through the GSMA Open Gateway framework. This global initiative transforms traditionally siloed telecom networks into open, programmable platforms, empowering third parties to create advanced digital services in industries such as banking, fintech, ecommerce, travel, and smart mobility.

The collaboration will enable Ooredoo to monetize APIs directly, enhance cross-market interoperability, and support a faster, more secure integration with its networks. This step provides developers with scalable tools to create responsive, personalized, and efficient customer-facing applications.

Group Chief Technology and Information Officer at Ooredoo, Timos Tsokanis, stated that the company is building digital platforms that offer real value for developers, enterprise customers, and the communities they serve. The expanded partnership with Google Cloud strengthens Ooredoo's ability to deliver API-powered services at scale, accelerating innovation, and creating new commercial opportunities across its markets.

Ooredoo is also scaling its cloud business with a dedicated marketplace for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs), set to run on Google Cloud. This marketplace will offer digital tools and cloud-native services tailored to the needs of modern enterprises, aiding them in building, growing, and scaling efficiently and reliably in the digital economy.

This collaboration ensures that Ooredoo continues to leverage Google Cloud's infrastructure, AI, and data analytics capabilities, supporting the Group's ambition to lead in digital infrastructure and operational excellence across its footprint.
