According to Qatar News Agency, Brazilian Giovanni Henrique scored twice for Al Sadd in the 33rd minute and in stoppage time at 45+3. Spanish forward Rafa Mujica scored in the 53rd minute. Akram Afif converted a penalty in the 59th minute and scored again in the 83rd minute.

With their 13th victory of the season, Al Sadd increased their points tally to 40, moving two points ahead of former leaders Al Duhail, who will face Al Ahli on Saturday in the final match of the round. Meanwhile, Al Shahaniya suffered their second consecutive loss and their ninth of the season, remaining on 23 points in seventh place.
