Ooredoo Stars League: Qatar SC, Al Arabi Play to 0-0 Draw in Week 19

Doha: Qatar SC and Al Arabi played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday in Week 19 of the Ooredoo Stars League at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium. Qatar SC moved to 22 points in 9th place, while Al Arabi sits 7th with 23 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar SC started strong, applying high pressure and pushing for an early lead, with Congolese forward Ben Malango coming close in the 5th minute but was denied by Al Arabi's Abdou Diallo. South African Percy Tau missed a chance in the 11th minute, and Brazilian Carlinios shot wide in the 18th.

Al Arabi had a rare offensive threat in the 29th minute when Yazan Al Naimat's shot was blocked by Qatar SC's Ibrahim Majed. Qatar SC continued to press, and in the 33rd minute, Ahmed Abdel Kader passed to Tau, but Al Arabi's keeper made a crucial save.

Tau had another chance before the break but sent the ball wide in the 45+2' minute, leaving the game tied at 0-0.

In addition, Qatar SC dominated the second half. Malango's header from a perfect cross by Tau in the 62nd minute went over the bar. In the 64th minute, Italian Marco Verratti cleared a goal-bound shot from Abd El-Kader off the line.

Al Arabi threatened with a free kick by Verratti in the 72nd minute that hit the post. Qatar SC appealed for a penalty after a challenge on Sebastian Soria in the 90+5' minute, but after a VAR review, the decision was not overturned, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
