Organizing Committee for AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Weighs in on Tournament Developments

Riyadh: The Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 convened its fourth meeting in Riyadh to discuss the progress of the tournament set to take place from January 7 to February 5, 2027. The committee emphasized the significance of adhering to international standards while organizing Asia's leading men's national teams championship and focused on the ongoing preparations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the committee operates under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and expressed confidence in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to achieve new levels of excellence in event management. The members reviewed a comprehensive report from the LOC on significant milestones and commended the substantial progress made in preparing for an outstanding event that aligns with stakeholder expectations.

The meeting highlighted the readiness of top-tier stadiums that are set to host the continent's premier national teams. Additionally, the OCAC approved the latest tournament regulations, which now permit all 26 players in each team's final squad to participate in every match. The committee also received updates on the bidding process for future AFC Asian Cup editions in 2031 and 2035, with decisions anticipated by 2027.
