Islamabad: Pakistan and Russia on Thursday concluded the 10th session of their Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical cooperation in Islamabad, wrapping up three days of discussions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the session was co-chaired by Pakistan's Minister of Energy Sardar Awais Leghari and Russia's Minister Sergei Tsivilev. During the closing session, the two sides signed several MoUs, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, diversifying exports, and expanding cooperation between companies in both countries, especially in the fields of renewable energy and hydropower.
The ministers underscored the importance of continued collaboration in facilitating trade exhibitions and business-to-business exchanges, improving access for Pakistani products in foreign markets, and supporting joint commercial initiatives. Both delegations also highlighted the significance of advancing pilot cargo movement along agreed transport corridors and reached an agreement to launch a trial freight train service to enhance connectivity and trade logistics between the two nations.
