Pakistani Army Announces Killing of 24 Militants in Two Operations Northwest of Country

Khyber pakhtunkhwa: The Pakistani army announced Friday the killing of 24 militants during two separate clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the army said that its forces, acting on precise intelligence about the presence of militants, conducted a security operation in the Orakzai region, exchanging heavy fire with them, resulting in the death of 14 militants.

It added that its forces carried out another operation in the Khyber region, clashing with militants and killing ten of them, before launching operations to pursue other militants holed up in the area.

The Pakistani army has intensified its operations in recent months against armed groups entrenched in the mountains of the northwest, killing hundreds of their members. The army affirmed its continued efforts to eliminate all outlawed groups.
