Ramallah- Ma'an- The State of Palestine participated on Wednesday in the 21st Arab Conference of Heads of Immigration and Passports Agencies, held in the Tunisian capital, Tunis. The State of Palestine was represented by Director General of Passports Nasser Abu Fakhida, as well as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, and representatives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. The conference discusses the experiences of member states in combating forgery of travel documents, human trafficking and smuggling across Arab borders, and a guiding plan to confront illegal immigration. Abu Fakhida stressed that the Ministry of Interior seeks to develop services for citizens, as the State of Palestine has issued "biometric" passports, pointing to the importance of cooperation in establishing a platform to exchange the vital characteristics of travelers.
