Palestine: The sixth session of the political consultations between the Palestinian and Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs convened on Saturday to discuss avenues for strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries in a variety of fields. The session explored the latest political and field developments on the Palestinian stage, with Palestinian Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Omar Awadallah urging the upcoming Dutch government to recognize the State of Palestine as a fundamental step toward embodying the two-state solution.
According to Qatar News Agency, Awadallah called on the Dutch side to marshal further efforts within the framework of the European Union to take practical steps to end the Israeli occupation and achieve the two-state solution based on the relevant international references and resolutions. For his part, the Dutch Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcel de Vink, underscored his country's commitment to enforcing the two-state solution. He stressed that the Netherlands is ready to work with all international partners and through all multilateral frameworks to achieve stability in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip alike.
