Palestine’s Prime Minister, UN Official Discuss Ways to Intensify Relief in Gaza

Ramallah: Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Mustafa and Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Cindy McCain discussed on Thursday ways to intensify relief efforts in Gaza amid renewed warnings of displacement as a result of the ongoing war of extermination and starvation in the Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, they also discussed the importance of continuing international pressure to halt the war and open all crossings to allow the entry of relief and humanitarian aid. The two sides also addressed implementing urgent relief immediately after the cessation of hostilities, as part of the Gaza reconstruction and recovery plan, which includes 56 detailed programs prepared in cooperation with international partners.

Mustafa praised the efforts of the WFP in supporting the Palestinian government's efforts to provide relief to civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, while McCain stressed the need to exert all efforts and pressure towards a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, opening all crossings, allowing unlimited aid to enter and distribute it fairly, and ensuring its access to those in need.
