Palestinian Ambassador Highlights Qatar’s National Day Significance and Solidarity

Doha: HE Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Qatar, Fayez Majed Abu Al Rab, emphasized the significance of Qatar National Day as a pivotal historical milestone that seamlessly combines the authenticity of Qatar's founding with the vision of a modern state. He highlighted the foundational journey of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, underscoring the values of sovereignty, unity, and independence established by the founder.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency praised HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for continuing the founder's legacy with wisdom and strategic leadership. This leadership has positioned Qatar as an active and influential model on both regional and international stages, while maintaining stability and progress across economic, social, and educational sectors.

On behalf of HE President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian government, and people, His Excellency extended heartfelt congratulations to Qatari leadership and citizens on Qatar National Day. He expressed deep gratitude for Qatar's unwavering support of the Palestinian cause and its commitment to strengthening the Palestinian-Qatari partnership.

The ambassador stressed Qatar National Day's special significance for Palestinians, as it embodies shared values of dignity, freedom, and national identity between the two peoples. He commended Qatar's consistent support in international forums and its tangible contributions to the Palestinian cause, particularly in humanitarian aid and development initiatives.

He highlighted Qatar's foreign policy as a model of responsible diplomacy, promoting regional stability and supporting peace efforts. Qatar's role in supporting Palestinians, especially in Gaza, has been crucial, involving efforts to mitigate aggression impacts, facilitate humanitarian aid, and support reconstruction.

Qatari institutions like Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity, and Education Above All Foundation have played key roles in relief and development programs, enhancing Palestinian resilience. The EAA Foundation notably supported students' education rights during challenging times by facilitating high school exams for over 56,000 students.

Emphasizing solidarity, the ambassador noted Qatar's commitment to international law, rejecting settlement policies, and supporting Palestinian self-determination with East Jerusalem as its capital. He praised Qatar's comprehensive development model, which has transformed it into a leader in sustainable development and international mediation.

The ambassador concluded by affirming the strong foundation of Palestinian-Qatari relations, expressing hope for increased cooperation in political, diplomatic, educational, and cultural fields, further enhancing the partnership and contributing to regional stability and development.
