Palestinian Foreign Ministry slammed Sunday Israeli occupation government's plans to grant Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich authority to approve building and expansion of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a press statement, the Ministry railed against the move as another step to apply Israeli law to the West Bank and facilitate the settlement projects quietly and noiselessly.
The statement called for the US and the World to take action to press the occupation government to draw back from this decision and to stop its illegal unilateral measures that torpedo opportunities for a twostate solution.
The occupation government has recently approved plans to construct 1700 settlements in the occupied Jerusalem as part of a timescheduled project seeking to establish 58,000 settlements in East Jerusalem to hamper a geographically contiguous Palestinian state.
